1/2 | cup mayonnaise |
1/4 | cup grated Parmesan cheese |
2 | tablespoons dried, minced onions |
3 | tablespoons beer |
4 | slices whole wheat bread |
Combine mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, minced onion,
and beer. Mix
well.
Remove crust from bread and slice
into four triangles.
Spread filling
or each triangle.
Bake at 375 degrees until puffed and brown.
(watch carefully
to prevent burning.)
*variations:
For herbed canapes, add 1 teaspoon dill weed or
celery
seed. (celery seed is my favorite!)
For spicy canapes, add 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
and 1 teaspoon
ground cumin.
For blue cheese canapes, substitute 2 tablespoons
crumbled blue cheese
for half of the Parmesan cheese.
