Chicken Liver Pate

1/3  cup finely chopped onion
tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2  pound chicken liver
1/4  teaspoon salt
tablespoons dry sherry
1/2  cup butter or margarine, softened

Saute onion in butter until tender; add chicken livers
and cook 10 to 15 minutes, stirring often. Pour livers into container of
electric blender. Add salt and sherry; process until smooth. Cool.

Combine liver mixture and softened butter;
place in a small bowl or crock, and serve with crackers
