Top Ramen Cabbage Salad

 

 

2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/2 head large, shredded cabbage
4 chopped green onions including tops
1 package chicken flavor Top Ramen Soup noodles
1/2 cup oil
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 packet seasoning from noodles

 

Toast sesame seeds and almonds in 325-degree
oven for 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned - watch carefully.
Combine cabbage and onion. Break up noodles by
hand and add to salad. At last minute, combine
in serving dish with dressing. Sprinkle almonds
and sesame seeds on top and lightly toss

Dressing: Combine oil, sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper
and flavor packet from top ramen noodles in jar with lid.
Shake well before adding to salad.

*plain white vinegar may be substituted for the apple
cider vinegar for a less tangy taste.

*in a hurry? Buy 2 packages pre-shredded cabbage with carrots.
